ONCE AGAIN I SAY - IS A PUZLEMENT!

There is no intelligent reason for anyone to support and defend Trump.  So why does the national Republican Party leadership and the Republicans in Congress continue to do something that is completely illogical?

There are several possible reasons.

The most probably is the assumption by Republicans that they truly need the votes of Trump’s core cult of ignorant racists, apparently about 30% of Americans, to win elections and remain in power.  They are afraid of offending this new voting bloc.  This means that the direction of a major political party, and the current Administration, is guided solely by ignorant racists.

There is also the thought that, like Putin and our other enemies, the Republican leadership recognizes and acknowledges that Trump is the ultimate narcissist and can be easily “played”, and have abandoned all integrity and credibility to use Trump to get what they want legislatively and politically, just as Putin uses Trump to get what he wants.    

It is very possible that Trump has blackmail on members of the Republican Party leadership and specific Republican members of Congress. 

And it is also possible that, like Trump, the leadership of the Republican Party and Republicans in Congress have absolutely no interest in or concern for America or its citizens and only care about partisan and personal self-interest.  Trump has no brain and no conscience.  Republican leadership may have a brain but no conscience.

Whatever the reason, or reasons, the Republican Party, and Republicans in Congress, have very clearly put Party above Country and above the Constitution.

TRUMP AND THE "S-WORD"

Many people, myself included, have astutely identified Donald T Rump the man as a totally worthless of shit.

But perhaps shit is the wrong comparison. 

Shit does have value and makes an important contribution to society when used as fertilizer. 

Trump, however, has absolutely no value and contributes nothing positive to anyone or anything.

So maybe the better observation is that Trump is a totally worthless piece of garbage.

He does, by the way, have shit for brains.

DEAR REPUBLICAN:

Forget about partisan politics and policies.  Here are only a few of the many reasons why you should oppose, denounce and disavow Trump and any Republican candidate who supports and defends Trump:

* He is ignorant and incompetent. He thinks he knows everything about everything and can do anything better than anyone, when the reality is he knows nothing about anything and can’t do anything better than anyone.  And he has no interest in learning anything about anything.  He has NO understanding of the Constitution and no clue about the duties, responsibilities and limitation of the office of the President.  

* He is totally self-absorbed.  He cares only about himself and absolutely no one or nothing else.  His one and only agenda as President, and the sole motivation for everything he does, is, and always has been, feeding his ego and lining his pockets.  Nothing else matters to Trump. 

* He lies.  To everyone.  About everything.   Every day.  While most of his lies are purposeful, many are simply the result of pure ignorance.  It is impossible for anyone anywhere to believe a word that comes out of his mouth.  

* He admires, praises and envies dictators and authoritarian leaders.  He truly wants to be just like Kim, Putin, Mohammad bin Salman, etc.  While courting our enemies he attacks, abuses and alienates our allies.  He believes democracy and democratic leaders are weak.  His words, tweets and deeds embarrass America and destroys our credibility, stature and power on the world stage.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

The recent reporting of Pence and the Air Force staying at Trump properties – miles away from their actual destination – highlights the ongoing corruption of the Trump presidency.

Here is the text of a letter I sent to my representatives in Washington.  I urge you to do the same.

Dear Senator/Congressman:

Trump’s shameless profiteering from being President is deplorable and unacceptable.  He is putting millions of taxpayer dollars in his pockets unethically by having government officials, representatives and employees stay at Trump-owned resorts and properties.

This behavior, only one item on a long list of improper, unethical and illegal behavior by Trump, must stop now and never be allowed to happen again in future presidencies.

Congress must pass legislation requiring all Presidents and Vice Presidents to totally divest themselves of all personal holdings and place the proceeds in a blind trust. The President and Vice President, actually nobody other than the trustee, should know how the funds are invested.  Unfortunately, this would not take effect until after the 2020 election.

As an interim measure, Congress must pass legislation that takes effect immediately prohibiting the US government and any of its branches, departments or agencies from spending money at or with a property or company that is more than 50% in total owned by a sitting President or Vice President or a member of their immediate families, for example parents, siblings, children, children of siblings, and the equivalent in-laws.

I would urge you to introduce and/or support this legislation.

WHY IS TRUMP IN THE WHITE HOUSE?

We have an ignorant and incompetent delusional malignant narcissist, the worst President in the history of the United States, in the White House because of a unique combination of factors.

* The frustration of many Americans with the incompetence and inaction of Congress due to extreme partisanship.

* Too many candidates on the ballot in Republican primaries - and too few choices in the Democratic primaries.

* The false assumption that Trump is a smart and successful, and honest, businessman.

* An irrational hatred of the Clinton family and specifically Hillary Clinton by many Republicans and independents.

* James Comey’s October 28 letter to Congress about Clinton’s emails.

* Russia’s systematic and aggressive interference with the election in support of the Trump campaign.

* The continued existence of the outdated and unnecessary Electoral College.

Remove any one of these factors and it is possible that we would not be in the extreme danger to American principals and democracy we find ourselves faced with today.

It is important to note that despite the above factors, Trump still lost the election by almost 3 Million votes.  Trump is only in the White House today because of the continued existence of the Electoral College, which, ironically, was originally created to prevent a dangerous demagogue and opportunist like Trump from being elected. 

It is clear that we must do away with the Electoral College.

THE NEW CELEBRITY NARCISSIST

There have always been celebrity and high-profile narcissists.  Trump, while perhaps being the most intense narcissist, is nothing new.

But prior to the proliferation of so-called “reality TV” celebrity was actually based to some degree on actual talent and accomplishment.  The narcissism and narcissistic behavior of celebrities was at least partially based in reality.

And in the past celebrity narcissists were actually intelligent.

The classic example of a celebrity narcissist had always been, in my opinion, Jerry Lewis.  Lewis was a talented performer and director with legitimate accomplishments and real intelligence.

The new celebrities of reality tv are merely “famous for being famous” and not for any actual identifiable talent or accomplishment.  And reality tv celebrities are clearly “intelligence-challenged”.  

Trump is the ultimate example.  Trump, a true celebrity "famous for being famous" and the textbook narcissist, has no talent, has accomplished nothing of value and is as ignorant and incompetent as a person can get.  His delusions of grandeur are just that - pure delusions - and not based on any reality.

Trump is also a sociopath.  Successful functioning sociopaths have generally had intelligence.  But Trump is a moron.
